Extractions

The goal of our practice is to help you save your teeth. However, for various reasons, teeth sometimes cannot be saved. Our goal is to remove teeth as gently as possible. This is important to maintain the remaining bone in case implants are wanted in the future. Advanced grafting techniques can be done at the time of extraction to prevent deformities in the bone that would not allow for implant placement or an estheic restoration in the future.

Dr. Dale gives lectures to the General Practice Residents at Denver Health about how to remove teeth with minimal trauma.  In life there are lateral forces and parallel forces.  A good example of a lateral force would be getting tackled in football.  These forces create trauma which result in pain afterwards.  An example of a parallel force would be walking next to a wall without running into it.  Parallel forces don't create trauma and therefore do not hurt.  When extracting a tooth, there are only 2 forces which are parallel.  By sticking to these 2 parallel forces, Dr. Dale creates less trauma during an extraction.
